Write On Irlam is a writing group with a difference. Different, because unlike many others, we welcome ALL PEOPLE who want to write. No matter of their age, sex or ability. Anyone is welcome.
Our members are simply people who have an interest in writing and get together to discuss the work we have done.
We all help to promote the groups activities which in turn will help to get our work noticed.
At the group sessions, there is no teaching involved,(except the occational visit from an experienced tutor).
We hold discussions and set tasks to be worked on in between meetings.
We do fun activities to get us writing and give eachother loads of confidence and encouragement.
Our Main Principles are:
* to give and take ideas
* to provide constructive criticism
* to build eachothers confidence as writers
* to gain inspiration
* to share information
Based at Irlam, in Salford, Greater Manchester, Land
of creative talents, our group is becoming a name to remember. Registered with the Salford Libraries, North West Arts Council and other local and regional organisations Write On Irlam is determined to become a group that not only benefits members, but also other Salfordarians.
Each of us is very enthusiastic and want to be involved in the groups success.
We are a fun group that has come up with lots of ideas for the future.
At present, as well as doing all the groupie things, we are working hard to developing the web site into a site for all people who are interested in writing.
It will include loads of ideas to encourage people to write, as well as having pages of fun things, such as word puzzles and quizzes, tips to assist you in developing your writing talents, poems and stories.
At present we would very much appreciate any suggestions, comments and ideas from visitors to our site.
As it develops, we will be asking you, the viewer, to submit your own work.
Also, in the future we are hoping to organize competitions for anyone to enter.
Feedback about our site is very important. By giving us ideas, this will keep it interesting and informative for all who visit.
