News and Events
The mini "In Bloom" competition organised by Weaste In Bloom this year produced some amazing and imaginative uses of space and colour.

Categories were:
Best Front Garden
Best Basket/Container
Best Communal Space
Best Sheltered Housing Garden

All the photographs taken throughout August were seen by an independent panel of judges ( thanks go to Sue Smith, Daniel Smith, Sarah Blinstone & G. Ramsden).

The finalists were invited to a presentation at Buile Hill Garden Centre on the 13th September where Councillors Geoff Ainsworth and John Deas presented the winners with vouchers. All residents who were nominated in the final were presented with a certificate and everyone was commended for their efforts in helping to make Weaste a "Blooming Marvellous" place to live.

We want to enter the North West in Bloom competition in 2007 and hope that all residents will once again rise to the occasion and make Weaste bloom!

Our thanks go to all who helped make this possible, especially The Meadows Resource Centre, the residents, New Prospect Housing and the staff at Buile Hill Garden Centre.
