Wakden South Branch first formed officially in April 1982.
The First Chair of the branch was Bob Kerry. Bob was Education Officer to the PFA.
Bob unfortunately died on a charity run for Pendlebury Children's Hospital in 1984.
The first Labour councillor elected was John Davies winning the seat in May 83,
then Dr Kevin Bruton in May 84 followed by Allan Price in May 86.
Allan Price, Kevin Bruton and John Davies and recently Stanley Witkowski
have sinced retired from the Council after working hard over the years for the Walkden South Community
