The Freewheelers
|
 |
"It's fitting that The Freewheelers are named after a Bob Dylan album, as they got together thanks to having met through Salford Salutes Dylan.
Albert Thompson and Chris Carson formed The Freewheelers in May 2008 and made their debut at Swinton Folk Club. They made their Salford Salutes Dylan debut at Bob's Bloom Street Birthday Bash on 24th May 2008, where they were joined by Tom O'Gorman, of The Zimmermen.
Albert played guitar and harmonica, Chris guitar and Tom mandolin, each taking it in turns to sing. Their songs on the nightv were: When the ship comes in; Hard times come again no more; Love minus zero=no limit; You ain't going nowhere; and Mr Tambourine Man.
The Freewheelers will appear regularly, both as individuals and as a band, at Swinton Folk Club on Singers Nights"
