Mark Makin and his Free Trade Hall concert photos...


One of several superb photographs taken by Mark Makin at the FreeTrade Hall on 17 May, 1966.
Mark was a schoolboy at Salford Grammar School at the time and had developed an interest in photography.
Mark's FTH photos have been used extensivley in books and were featured in Martin Scorsese's Bob Dylan film, 'No Direction Home'(2005).
We are grateful to Mark for giving us permission to use his pictures on our website.

Salford Salutes Dylan raised £200 for the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Research Equipment Fund at the auction.
Thanks to Mark, and it was geat to see him at the event.
Mark, who is an accomplished slide guitar player, joined CP Lee and John Scott on stage for 'Spanish Harlem Incident' and 'Bob Dylan's 115th Dream'.
