The Free Trade Hall
The façade of the Free Trade Hall, on Peter Street, Manchester, photographed on 17 May, 2006 : 40 years to the day since Bob Dylan's concert there in 1966.
The façade is the only remaining part of the Hall, which has been replaced by the Radisson Edwardian Hotel.
The Free Trade Hall has played a major part in Manchester's cultural history - once the home of the Hallé Orchestra and the venue for international stars, local rallies and events involving communities across Greater Manchester.

Ticket courtesy of Ric Gibbs.

Tickets were on sale in Hime and Addison's Music Shop, on Peter Street. The concert sold out, but keen fans could get tickets without too much trouble if they were quick - there was no Internet to ensure a quick sell-out within hours.
And the price? Not bad, eh? this ticket would be 65p in decimal currency, though still half a day's pay for low-paid worker:well worth it though! A priceless experience.
