Convemor: Betty Bayliss 0161 789 3300
We enjoy getting together and listening to recorded music.
This session -2004- we are ‘doing’ countries. We have already enjoyed a Czech afternoon and are looking forward to ones on Wales, England, Spain and Scandinavia.
When we have our planning meetings we have an afternoon of personal choice where we each bring a short piece of music. I usually set a theme e.g. colours, the weather, holidays etc. These afternoons are much enjoyed especially by the members who ‘cheat’ so they can play a particular piece of music such as ‘The Swan’ during the colour programme ‘because it has a yellow beak’.
The members range from ones with sparse knowledge to musical experts and I think presenting a programme does help and is certainly enjoyed by the entire group who appreciate the work that goes into the presentation.
If music be your food of love you may wish to join this group which meet at Eccles Gateway (Eccles Library) on alternate Tuesdays at 2pm, if so then conact Betty for further details.
