Welcome to Salford U3A.
Updated 14 th March 2010

'U3A' stands for The University of the Third Age.

The 'Third Age' is a time of creativity and fulfilment for older people.

The 'Third Age' refers to the periods of time after the First Age of childhood dependence and the Second Age of full time employment and parental responsibility.

A 'U3A' is a university in the original sense of the word: a collective of people devoted to learning, and members are in the 'Third Age'.

Anyone in the Third Age can join a U3A - all you need is interest and enthusiasm! It is called a university, but it has members, not students. No qualifications are required, and none are given.

SALFORD LIFE LONG LEARNING is a group of more than three hundred people within the U3A who are seeking to swell their numbers so why not join us. You will find a series of buttons on the left of the screen listing the various groups. Just 'click on' to the group which interests you where you will find most, if not all, the information you require.
