Welcome to the Salford Local History Society links page. From this page you can be directed to some of the many other local history society sites in the city of Salford, plus some of the sites related to local history in general such as museums and art galleries.

Of the local history groups in Salford, Eccles has the longest continuous history, having celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2006. The Eccles and District History Society site can be reached by using the link or the following website address. www.edhs.colsal.org.uk
Eccles has two societies and the other Eccles Heritage can be reached via the link.
One of the newer groups in the city is that of Little Hulton and they can be reached via the Little Hulton Memories website
The newest group to be formed, in 2007, is that of the Charlestown and Kersal Local History Society.
Their web site can be found on www.chalkhistory.colsal.org or via the link Salford Local History Library at Peel Park, Crescent, Salford is the source of much material dealing with these subjects. The same building is home to the Salford Museum and Art Gallery and Lifetimes, which have displays and hold events relating to the local history of Salford.
