The latest Salford Local History Fair took place in September 2009 at the Salford Museum and Art Gallery, Peel Park, Crescent, Salford.
The fair took over the whole of the building and as promised was as succesful as previous years. A record attendance for the event was recorded, with just under 1500 people passing through the doors.
As well as the Salford Local History Society, all the other local history groups within the city had stalls, along with many other groups and societies with themes such as transport, geneology, preservation groups, book stalls and many other subjects taking part. There were new groups with stalls and one of these the Friends of Real Lancashire - FORL - reported that they had received lots of interest from people who were still proud of their Lancastrian heritage.
There were also many activities to suit the younger ones, which included free bus rides to and from the Transport Museuum at Queens Road, Cheetham
The next Salford Local History Fair is scheduled for 19th September 2010
