We are a group of young volunteers on a 12 week personal development programme. The programme is provided by the Prince's Trust in connection with Greater Manchester Fire Service. The course is a non-discriminatory programme, for 16 - 25 year olds who are out of work and not in full-time education. It is FUN - with the emphasis on education!
Above is a picture of the first team to undertake Prince's Trust Program in the Little Hulton area of Greater Manchester.
The idea of the program, first and foremost, is to gain qualifications and develop personal skills ~ which involves problem solving; communication; team work; working with others; tolerance; caring for others; taking responsibility; motivation; leadership; and showing confidence. These are our 'buzz' words throughout the program.
Each week of the twelve weeks is dedicated to certain activities, eg.
** Residential
** Fund raising

** Team Challenge
** Specific Certificate Weeks - eg. First Aid
** Presentation
** Work Placement
** Next Steps - eg. CV's; Interview Techniques.
