Peel Community Sports Development Centre Supported by the Children's Fund
Peel Community Sports Development Centre was formed in April 2002 by local residents on the peel estate in Little Hulton.

The photo opposite is of the front of the building.

The building was once four cottage flats that was marked down for demolition in the regeneration of Little Hulton.

The Peel Community Sports Development Centre, is a volunteer run sports facility for the benefit of the whole community.The centre provides sports facilities to meet the needs of local residents,as well as providing space for non-sports related activities. The centre is also the home of Peel United Junior Football Club, who are a recognised club through out the Greater Manchester Area, which encourages young people to be involved in football activity in a protected and safe environment.

The groups vision is of a centre that offers not only sporting activities for children and adults, but a centre which covers a multitude of disciplines that will benefit the whole community from the earliest stages in childhood through to adulthood.

The centre is a true focus for community activity,providing a much needed resource where previously nothing existed in the locality.

The centre is seen as bringing together a community with varied needs, combining young and old, unemployed and employed, motivated and isolated, to form a community which is both motivated and united.

The inside lay out of the building consist of:-

* 2 changing rooms
* 2 shower rooms with 3 showers in each
* Toilets, male and female with disability access
* Games room
* Kitchen
* Computer room
* Office

The photo below is of the rear of the building.

The art work of the sports figures on the wall was done by C.I.S insurance to brighten up the sports area for the youths.

Since the opening of the Community Centre in April we have managed to organize various activities for over 400 people in the local community.
