A bit about PMS/PMDD Physical Symptoms and Causes
REPORTED PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS FOR PMS and PMDD are:-

*Breast Tenderness
*Swollen/Bloated feeling
*Puffiness of face/fingers/abdomen
*Weight gain
*Headaches
*Change in Appetite
*Acne or skin rashes
*Diarrhoea or Constipation
*Joint or Muscle stiffness
*General Aches and Pains
*Backache
*Abdominal pain or cramps

REPORTED PSYCHOLOGICAL AND BEHAVIOURAL SYMPTOMS FOR PMS are:-

*Mood swings/Depression
*Feeling low/Tearful
*Tiredness/Fatigue/Lethargy
*Tension
*Irritability
*Loss of Concentration
*Poor Co-ordination
*Altered interest in Sex
*Sleep Disorders
*Food Cravings
*Aggression
*Loss of Self Control











  REPORTED CAUSES FOR PMS/PMDD are:-

*Hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle
*Fall in the sex hormones Oestrogen and Progesterone
*Possible change in brain chemicals such as, Serotonin,Dopamine and Cortisol


THE PSYCHOLOGICAL AND BEHAVIOURAL SYMPTOMS FOR PMDD are reported to be so severe that it can impair a womans lifestyle. Very similar to PMS but include:-

*Intense feelings of Unhappiness
*Unable to see a positive future
*Feeling worthless/Useless
*Very sensitive to Critisism/Rejection
*Sad/Tearful/Crying for no reason
*Anxiety/Tension
*Anger/Conflicts
*Find it hard to be with people
*loss of interest in activities, e.g friends, work, hobbies
*Binge or Comfort eating
*Feeling overwhelmed or out of control
