Thanks to a grant from the National Lottery's Awards for All in 2008, the Society has acquired a range of digital equipment. The equipment includes a laptop computer, printer, digital slide projector and screen, together with a number of digital cameras for use by members to record Eccles and district on an ongoing basis.
The photographs are copied to disc and copies are to be made available to Salford City Council's LifeTimes collection. To date over 700 photographs have been taken.
Anyone who wishes to take part in the project is most welcome. Please see any member of the committee at a meeting of the Society, or email Chris (eccleshistory@yahoo.co.uk).
Laptop and projector have been used many times already for presentations at Society meetings and by members giving talks to other groups in the area.
