WHAAT?
SALFORD SALUTES DYLAN is a celebration of BOB DYLAN by local fans, singers and musicians. It is a series of events held in England's north country fair, in the city of SALFORD , within easy Judas! shouting distance of the site of the Manchester Free Trade Hall.
MARK AND HIS DYLAN PHOTOS
Pictured above is Bob Dylan at the Manchester Free Trade Hall, 17 May 1966: one of a number of brilliant photographs taken on the night by Mark Makin. We were delighted that Mark was able to join us at our first event, POSiTIVELY BLOOM STREET on 31 May, 1966.
Not only did Mark play alongside CP Lee and John Scott, but he kindly donated a fabulous print of the above photo to help raise money for the charity. More of Mark's pictures are featured on our BACK PAGES site.
EVENTS
SALFORD SALUTES DYLAN began with POSITIVELY BLOOM STREET held at The King's Arms, Bloom Street, Salford on 31 May 2006. It was to mark the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Bob Dylan's now-famous Manchester Free Trade Hall concert of 17 May 1966.
Since then we have staged regular events - all celebrations of the songs of Bob Dylan. See our BACK PAGES for details.
